Responsibilities
- Implement engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans using The Goddard School's Wonder of Learning® curriculum
- Create and maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom environment where every child feels valued
- Foster children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through meaningful learning experiences
- Observe, assess, and document children's growth and development to guide instruction and share progress with families
- Build strong relationships with families through open, positive communication about their child's daily experiences and milestones
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities while maintaining all health, safety, and licensing standards
- Provide positive behavior guidance that encourages confidence, kindness, and problem-solving skills
- Support and mentor Assistant Teachers and Resource Teachers while promoting a collaborative, team-focused classroom
- Participate in ongoing professional development to continually strengthen your teaching skills
Qualifications
- Has a genuine love for working with young children
- Leads with positivity, patience, and enthusiasm
- Enjoys mentoring and collaborating with fellow educators
- Is dependable, organized, and confident managing a classroom
- Communicates effectively with children, families, and team members
- Has a strong understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices
- Can lift up to 50 pounds as needed when caring for children
- Mets all state background check, licensing, and pre-service training requirements
- High school diploma required
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (preferred)
- Child Development Associate (CDA) preferred
- 1–2 years of experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting
- Successful completion of all required state pre-service training
