Essential Functions
- Actively supervises assigned group of children.
- Participate and encourage participation of all students in daily activities and events.
- Supports Summer Camp Director in planning and implementation of program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate and consistent with YMCA values.
- Adheres to program standards including safety and cleanliness.
- Actively participates in department and branch staff meetings and training.
- Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies.
- Cultivates positive relationships and maintains effective communication with parents, children and other staff.
- Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.

Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- Ability to attend training in May 2026
- To work the entire summer, June 1st to August 21st
- Previous experience working with children aged 5-12 years, preferably in a day camp setting
- Ability to supervise and play with children in a pool setting is required
- Willingness to work outdoors
- Experience preferred in one or more of the following areas: outdoor living, songs/music, skits, sports, aquatics, recreational games or art
- Demonstrated leadership, dependability & flexibility in work hours
- Integrity and ability to work independently with attention to detail required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Operation of 12-person passenger van for transportation purposes (18 and older only)
- Complete within 30 days of hire: YMCA cause & culture training; Child Abuse Prevention Training, BLS CPR/AED/First Aid
