About the Role

The Lead Steward assists the Stewarding Supervisor and Executive Steward in supervising the department to ensure all requirements and standards are met.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all ware-washing equipment is in working order.
• Maintain cleanliness in all back-of-house areas, including kitchens and walk-ins.
• Deliver food for banquet events and break down stations at the conclusion of events.
• Drive and maintain the kitchen recycling program.
• Assist the Executive Chef with special projects and initiatives upon request.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s Degree preferred).
• Minimum one year of experience in stewarding within a luxury resort.
• Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); Opera preferred.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prepare and analyze data, figures, and transcriptions generated by computer.
• Knowledge of hotel stewarding operations.
• Basic computer skills.

Physical Requirements

• Position requires walking and giving direction for most of the working day.
• Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 6 hours at a time.
• Ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.
• Must be able to lift 15–40 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
• Must be able to walk, stand, sit, bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill tasks.
• Finger dexterity required to operate office equipment.

Pay

$23 per hour (base pay, exclusive of incentive pay such as commissions, gratuities, etc.).
