Lead Sterile Processing Tech - Full-Time - Atlantic Health Overlook Medical Center

About the role

Oversee the decontamination, assembly, and sterilization process of all instruments, inventory of supplies, training of new staff members, and coordination of maintenance and service of equipment. Lead daily operations in reprocessing reusable medical supplies and instrumentation, including decontamination, cleaning, assembly, wrapping, sterilization, and storage, aligned with IPS professional standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and perform instrument decontamination, assembly, and sterilization.
• Report broken equipment, instruments, and patient safety issues to management immediately.
• Implement the repair process of equipment as necessary with proper notification to management.
• Assist with establishing and overseeing the coordination of turnover required for surgical cases.
• Direct and communicate department workflow and technician work assignments.
• Conduct daily spot checks as outlined by the Supervisor and/or QA Manager.
• Inventory materials and supplies daily to ensure adequate quantities are available for operations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 5 years of experience in Sterile Processing or a relevant field.
• HSPA or CBSPD Certification required.
• CHL or CSPM certification preferred.
