Primary Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, train, and coach Specialty Pharmacy Technicians
- Maintain daily oversight of workflow and staffing assignments
- Monitor team productivity and quality metrics
- Aid in performance evaluations and competency assessments
- Serve as a subject matter expert for specialty pharmacy operations
- Coordinate specialty medication, fulfillment, and distribution
- Manage prior authorization and benefits investigation workflows
- Communicate with patients regarding medication delivery and support services
- Collaborate with pharmacists, providers, manufacturers, and payers
- Escalate complex patient issues to pharmacists when appropriate
- Lead benefits verification and coverage determination activities
- Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations
- Maintain adherence to URAC, ACHC, and specialty pharmacy accreditation standards
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
- Oversee specialty medication inventory management
- Identify opportunities for workflow improvement and operational efficiency
- Utilize pharmacy management systems and electronic health records

Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Active Pharmacy Technician licensure in the state of New York
- 5+ years of Pharmacy Technician experience
- 5+ years of experience in leading teams, mentoring staff, or serving as a lead technician
- 5+ years of experience with pharmacy software systems and workflow management
- 1+ years of experience in specialty pharmacy, mail order, infusion, or specialty medication management
- 1+ years of inventory experience
- Ability to stand and lift 25 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree in healthcare, pharmacy technology, or related field
- National Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through PTCB or ExCPT certification through NHAS
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service and patient engagement
