Responsibilities
- Acts as the contact person for ultrasound technologists.
- Performs diagnostic procedures applying prescribed methods of ultrasound technique.
- Explains procedures to patients and addresses their concerns.
- Ensures ultrasound-related supply levels are always adequate.
- Reports any equipment failures to the concerned department(s).
- Prioritizes and disseminates tasks to others.
- Trains staff in established and new procedures.
- Ensures clinical staff competency and protocol.
- Captivates employee time off requests with operational needs and resolves departmental operational problems.
- Participates in the formulation and implementation of policies and procedures related to ultrasound.
- Captivates patient flow and expedites patient care by coordinating workflow within the department, problem solving and adapting staff schedules for volumes of the day.
- Maintains the daily staff schedule for all positions, coordinating coverage for vacations, sick time, etc.
Qualifications
- Associate's / Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience in imaging or a related field.
- Current applicable state licensure in Diagnostic Sonography and national registration in Sonography (ARDMS or ARRT).
- BLS/CPR Certification.
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) Certification.
- 4 years experience in Sonography, imaging services or related field.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in imaging or related fields preferred.
- 6 years of experience in the appropriate modality field of imaging or related fields preferred.
- 2+ years of leadership/supervisory experience preferred.
