On-siteEngineering$180k–$225k/yrFull-time

About the role

A day in the life: We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer to support a mission-critical program by designing and delivering secure, scalable software solutions. In this role, you will lead the development of a comprehensive AWS-based full-stack application designed to modernize and enhance the storage and management of encryption keys. You will leverage Java and Python for backend development, ReactJS for frontend development, and Kubernetes and Docker to build and deploy containerized applications. As a technical leader, you will provide guidance to engineering teams, collaborate closely with customer stakeholders to solve complex technical challenges, and help advance secure data protection capabilities through the design and implementation of encryption key management solutions.

This position offers a flexible hybrid work schedule with up to three days of telework per week, based on program and customer requirements. Because this position supports a mission-critical application, there may be a need for 24/7 support shared by the team; if this occurs, you would receive pay differential.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Computer Science or related course of study, or equivalent years of experience
  • 8+ years of Java development experience
  • 8+ years of experience with modern development practices
  • Experience with REST APIs
  • Experience with Agile methodology
  • TS/SCI with Polygraph level of security clearance

Bonus Skills

  • Familiarity developing and supporting encryption libraries and key management capabilities to ensure secure data protection and system integrity
  • Experience working with AWS, ReactJS, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), and Kubernetes
  • Ability to drive successful solution implementations by applying best practices across planning, technical documentation, testing, and defect resolution
  • Ability to contribute to project planning activities and communicate project progress, risks, and milestones with stakeholders

Pay

Based on the outlined roles, responsibilities, and requirements, the projected pay range for this position is: $180,000 - $225,000.

Benefits

  • Up to 10% in 401k contributions, immediately vested
  • Up to 5 weeks of leave (25 days of personal time off) and 11 paid floating holidays
  • 100% of premiums paid for comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance for you; majority of premiums paid for your family
  • Free access to a fully equipped, state-of-the-art gym
  • $5,250 per year towards ongoing education, trainings, certifications, and maintaining professional memberships
  • Up to $300 per year on company-branded merchandise (e.g., Under Armour, Nike, Carhartt, YETI)
  • Fun company events throughout the year (Oktoberfest, summer picnic, annual holiday party, team events like happy hours, baseball games, snowboarding, RenFest, and more)
