About the role

As a Lead Software Engineer in Risk Tech you’ll drive a major transformation into real-time, intelligent risk management powered by modern products and technical capabilities. Risk Tech is organized into two pillars: Risk Management Tech (RMT) builds frameworks and tools for monitoring risks, testing controls, and managing regulatory requirements; AML and Compliance Tech (ACT) ensures products are delivered ethically and in strict compliance with BSA/AML regulations and global laws. Architecture & Engineering Excellence teams bridge business strategy with technical execution and empower engineers to build better, more resilient systems—making Risk Tech a competitive advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices and full stack systems to create solutions that meet regulatory needs.
  • Stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal and external technology communities, and mentor other engineers.
  • Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences for millions of Americans.
  • Utilize programming languages such as JavaScript, Java, Node.js, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, and Go; open source RDBMS and NoSQL databases; container orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes; and a variety of AWS tools and services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least 4 years of experience in software engineering (internship experience does not apply).
  • At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree.
  • 7+ years of experience in at least one of the following: Python, TypeScript, React.
  • 3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service.
  • 4+ years of experience in open source frameworks.
  • 1+ years of people management experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in Agile practices.
  • Experience leveraging interactive AI tooling to accelerate productivity beyond basic code completion.
