Responsibilities
- Lead, design, develop, implement, and maintain applications using distributed technologies, including leading a team of engineers working in an onshore-offshore model.
- Create, write, and update technical and system documentation explaining in detail the changes made and their impact.
- Oversee IT aspects of the software development life cycle using Agile and DevSecOps methodologies across a set of group benefit applications.
- Develop secure, scalable, distributed enterprise-level applications from the customer perspective that are simple to use and maintain.
- Coordinate and collaborate with development teams, business systems analysts, product and business teams, partners, and project leads across various phases of project and product delivery.
Requirements
- 7+ years of overall experience.
- Hands-on development experience with Java, TypeScript/JavaScript, and frameworks/technologies such as Spring, Spring Boot, ReactJS, NodeJS, and/or AWS.
- Hands-on development of microservices and applications from the ground up, with experience in messaging/integration technologies (e.g., Kafka, MQ, or similar).
- Proficiency with various database technologies and solutions, including both SQL (Oracle or MS SQL Server preferred) and/or NoSQL (CosmosDB preferred).
- Container-based development leveraging Docker and/or Kubernetes, and experience with DevSecOps practices and tooling for CI/CD, release management, and/or automation using Azure DevOps.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field with 7+ years of hands-on distributed application development experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure Services: Functions, AKS, ASE, CosmosDB.
- Experience with MACH architecture (Microservices, API, Cloud, Headless) and cloud-first infrastructure.
- Experience with Veracode and security best practices.
- WebSphere Application Server experience is a plus.
- Experience with tools such as Helm charts, Ansible, and Terraform is a big plus.
Schedule
This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.
Pay
The expected salary range for this position is $105,400 - $150,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation and stock-based long-term incentives. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
