The Team You’ll Join

Our team builds and operates mission-critical trading and investment technology that helps power adaptive wealth management. We work on high-throughput, real-time systems that support the full lifecycle of transaction processing—from validating and routing requests to ensuring accurate downstream reporting and operational readiness. The work sits at the intersection of distributed systems engineering, financial domain complexity, and platform reliability, with an emphasis on scalability, resilience, and correctness.

You’ll partner closely with product, platform, and risk/compliance stakeholders, and you’ll help shape how we modernize our services and workflows over time—including thoughtful use of AI and automation to improve developer productivity, operational efficiency, and decision support. Engineers on this team tackle challenging problems end-to-end, contribute to technical direction, and build solutions that are designed to operate safely in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for building scalable, secure platforms in support of Envestnet business operations, including wealth management, financial data aggregation and advisor-driven technology solutions.
  • Works across cloud-based architectures, integrating complex data sources and APIs to deliver reliable, high-performance systems.
  • Collaborates with product managers, data scientists and compliance stakeholders to meet both business and regulatory requirements.
  • Architects and designs systems, services, or platforms with broad impact.
  • Leads technical decision-making for major features or initiatives.
  • Breaks down complex problems into scalable and maintainable solutions.
  • Drives cross-team collaboration and align technical solutions with business goals.
  • Establishes and enforces best practices in architecture, coding, and deployment.
  • Mentors engineers across multiple levels and contribute to talent development.
  • Anticipates technical risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies.
  • Leads incident response and root cause analysis for critical issues.
  • Influences roadmap planning through technical insight and feasibility analysis.
  • Partners with DevOps/SRE to improve system reliability, deployment automation, and observability.
  • Designs and maintains CI/CD pipelines for owned services, improving deployment speed and safety.
  • Implements infrastructure-aware design decisions (scalability, failover, resiliency, cost).
  • Owns the architecture and delivery of mission-critical fintech services, ensuring transactional correctness, clear service boundaries, and effective data ownership models.
  • Leads the adoption of AI-driven and agentic AI capabilities, establishing appropriate governance, guardrails, auditability, and compliance controls for production use.
  • Leads a cross-functional Agile/Scrum team, supporting sprint planning, estimation, and delivery execution to achieve successful business outcomes.
  • Partners with product, platform, and risk/compliance stakeholders to translate complex business and regulatory requirements into scalable, production-ready solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required (Master’s preferred).
  • Strong background in building distributed, transactional systems in fintech or other regulated domains, with deep understanding of data consistency, idempotency, fault tolerance, and scalability.
  • Solid understanding of security, observability, and production incident handling.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead architectural decisions, define technical standards, and communicate trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with event driven architectures (Kafka, async messaging), Cloud infrastructures (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Familiarity with AI cost control, evaluation, and governance practices.
  • Prior experience in trading systems, real-time financial platforms, or regulated production environments.

Pay

This role offers a base salary range of $152,300 to $190,400. The range listed represents a good-faith estimate of base salary compensation for this position and does not include incentive compensation, equity or benefits. Individual pay will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable pay transparency laws. This role is eligible for an additional incentive component as part of the total rewards package.
