Lead, Shipping and Receiving

About the role

FORTNA partners with the world’s leading brands to transform omnichannel and parcel distribution operations. We design and deliver solutions, powered by intelligent software, to optimize fast, accurate, and cost-effective order fulfillment and last-mile delivery. This role leads a team to verify and keep records on incoming/outgoing shipments and prepare items for stocking/picking while meeting quality and productivity standards. The position requires operating motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Schedule LTL and TL shipments
• Review and process daily cycle counts
• Lead daily safety talks/stretches and enforce a “zero” tolerance safety policy
• Train new Clerks and Material Handlers to meet team/company standards
• Lead Clerks and Material Handlers in all daily functions to meet company and team goals
• Operate lift trucks or hand trucks to convey, move, or hoist materials to proper departments or areas
• Operate PB crimp tools, including diagnosis, repair, and processing
• Operate stretch wrapping equipment
• Maintain inventory of shipping materials/supplies
• Perform computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods
• Support receiving/shipping of goods with high quality and attention to detail to comply with customer stocking needs/requests
• Receive all materials designated for the parts fulfillment department
• Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department Supervisor
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations
• Arrange trucks for pick-up by the carrier specified on the customer’s purchase order
• Perform part receiving/stocking and part picking/shipping cross-work
• Other responsibilities as assigned by the department supervisor

Requirements

• Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in a warehouse/fulfillment environment
• One year of ERP experience (Infor preferred)
• Intermediate computer user knowledge
• Shipping and receiving experience
• Knowledge of WMS and RF guns
• Demonstrated commitment to safety
• Ability to read and use a tape measure
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 3–5 years of forklift and reach truck experience
• Must pass pre-employment and random drug screen
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Pay

The base hourly range for this role is $18.17 – $25.00. The actual base rate offered will vary based on factors including location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and performance.
