Lead Scheduler, YM CARE Center
About the role
Within a team-based organizational structure, the lead scheduler oversees the day-to-day scheduling and referral functions of a department/specialty. The role involves leading and training a team of schedulers and referral specialists to ensure timely and caring service to patients and primary/referring providers.
Responsibilities
- Builds trust and respect with staff and providers, and interacts professionally with all members of the patient's care team.
- Manages calendars and calls, assesses issues, and escalates as needed.
- Serves as the primary source of information on policies, procedures, and office activities.
- Monitors and controls office budget and spending.
- Identifies project needs, researches, gathers, and analyzes data, and prepares and maintains documentation, reports, and presentations.
- Reviews and develops department processes and systems to improve efficiency.
- Maintains communication flow, prioritizes tasks, and ensures appropriate coverage.
- Attends meetings and drafts meeting minutes.
- Greets visitors, answers and screens calls, and responds to requests for information.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Candidate must live in Connecticut. Candidates are encouraged to provide a cover letter. Required skills and abilities include strong interpersonal skills, customer service skills, thorough knowledge of EPIC scheduling, strong organizational skills, active listening skills, and demonstrated actions as a caring and motivated team player. Preferred skills and abilities include proven experience leading day-to-day scheduling and referral functions in a high-volume call center/medical practice, and Spanish-speaking.
Qualifications
Eight years of related work experience, six of them in the same job family at the next lower level, and a high school level education.
Skills
Strong interpersonal skills, customer service skills, thorough knowledge of EPIC scheduling, strong organizational skills, active listening skills, demonstrated actions as a caring and motivated team player, and working knowledge of medical terminology.
