About the role

The Lead Rotating Equipment Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of mechanical equipment in the plant. They collaborate with engineers, planners, and other field personnel to address operational needs and maintain high safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out all tasks safely and efficiently, adhering to safety principles and policies.
  • Contribute to safety programs and committees, and participate in incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping and meet Asset Care priorities for assigned areas.
  • Take initiative to stop work if necessary and verify the understanding of third-party workers.
  • Review and update maintenance procedures, communicate changes, and conduct training as required.
  • Support the execution of capital and expense projects aimed at improving rotating equipment reliability.
  • Provide technical support to engineering teams during installation, modification, or implementation of mechanical equipment.
  • Participate in the commissioning of rotating equipment projects and ensure proper setup in asset management systems.
  • Assess vendor quotes, optimize work planning, and execute preventive maintenance plans.
  • Read and interpret P&IDs and demonstrate technical capability to assess work sequencing and costs.
  • Act as a safety leader, leading by example and participating in safety observation conversations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • At least 10 years of millwright experience in a plant.
  • NCCER Millwright Certification required.
  • 5 years of vibration analysis experience.
  • Equivalent experience or certifications within prior company may also be considered.
  • Possession or obtaining a TWIC card prior to employment.
  • Valid driver's license in the United States.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States permanently.

Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of process and personal safety and health practices applicable in the petrochemical industry.
  • Experience with SAP in Plant Maintenance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite tools.
  • Technical capability to assess vendor quotes and work sequencing.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and rotating equipment standards and codes.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs.
