About the role
The DBO Lead Supervisor oversees teams performing revenue cycle functions across multiple clients. This role serves as the primary point of contact for domestic business office staff, addressing day-to-day time management, policy interpretation, and dissemination of new direction. Frequent and effective communication—via phone, email, and instant messaging—with client teams is essential. The Lead Supervisor reports to the Domestic Business Office leadership team and plays a critical role in ensuring consistent service delivery and financial performance.
Responsibilities
- Own client-facing meetings, including agenda creation, issues logs, report packages, and supporting materials to facilitate discussions.
- Manage team metrics, including individual productivity, quality measures, and client-specific service level agreements.
- Collaborate with HMS Shared Services to onboard new clients, assign staff, and implement point solutions, including system access, equipment, training, and onboarding expectations.
- Align staff to appropriate shifts to meet client expectations for hours of operation.
- Review and approve all employee time, including time-off, client billable time, and overtime.
- Create and maintain unit budgets and utilization key performance indicators, including project and client-specific budgets, monitored within Workday.
- Coordinate with Revenue Cycle Analytics and IT to ensure accurate and up-to-date reporting, including time entry, computer activity, and client activity logs.
- Work closely with the Human Resources Team and DBO Leadership Team on staff performance escalations and concerns related to absence and time reporting.
Requirements
- Current permanent U.S. work authorization.
- 5+ years of Revenue Cycle experience in a multi-facility, integrated healthcare delivery system or consulting (preferred).
- 1+ years of leadership experience in a multi-facility, integrated healthcare delivery system or consulting (preferred).
Skills
- Knowledge of accounting systems, insurance issues, healthcare industry trends, legal issues, third-party and governmental guidelines, and workflow processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to relay information effectively.
- Flexibility and adaptability to change.
- Comfort operating and making decisions in ambiguity.
- Strong organizational skills, including prioritization, multitasking, timely response to emails and calls, and project workplan management.
- Strong analytical skills and demonstrated ability to interpret large datasets and translate outcomes into actionable recommendations.
Work Environment
This role operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical Demands
- Remaining seated at a desk/computer for 8 hours daily.
- Repetitive use of a computer keyboard and mouse.
- Use of computer monitors for 8 hours daily.
- Interaction via video/audio conference calls, with possible use of a headset and microphone.
- Rarely, duties may require lifting up to 20 pounds and bending or standing for periods of time.
Pay
The estimated salary range for this role is $55,000–$78,000. The range reflects a good-faith estimate at the time of posting and may vary based on skills, certifications, experience, market conditions, and required travel. This position is also eligible for Huron’s annual incentive compensation program, reflecting a pay-for-performance philosophy.
