LEAD RESPIRATORY THERAPIST (RT) FULL TIME

About the role

The Lead Respiratory Therapist at AMG Specialty Hospital - Albuquerque plays a crucial role in delivering safe, competent pulmonary care to patients under the direction of the physician. This position is part of the interdisciplinary care team and is responsible for ensuring adequate staffing and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Delivers safe, competent pulmonary care via multiple modalities under the direction of the physician.
• Ensures compliance with standards of practice, regulatory, and licensure standards.
• Works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary care team to support patient care goals.
• Assures adequate numbers of staff to care for the patient population through provision of departmental staffing schedules.
• Assures appropriate and adequate supplies and equipment to care for the patient population.
• Responsible for shift differentials for night and weekend shifts.

Requirements

• Active Licensed Respiratory Therapist in good standing, in state of employment.
• Active National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) credential per state requirements.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Current BLS certification.
• Minimum of one year of related work experience.
• Completes all mandatory education.
• Able to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited respiratory therapy program.
• Pass the NBRC certification exam.

• Strong clinical skills and knowledge of respiratory therapies.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
