Lead Rehab Technician - Southwood - [2nd shift, 40 hours]
About the role
Neuro Rehabilitation Technician at Hope Network's Neurological Rehabilitation department supports patients recovering from brain or spinal cord injuries. The role fosters a positive, therapeutic environment through person-centered care, promoting independence, self-confidence, and engagement in meaningful activities.
Responsibilities
Aids in creating schedules for both staff and resident’s needs.
Safeguards and ensures safety 24/7, monitoring and conducting checks as needed.
Trains newly hired staff and assists with documentation.
Fosters collaborative relationships with clients, the community, and other professionals through consistent and meaningful communication.
Assists clients in building skills for problem-solving, communication, and independence, and in participating in social and leisure activities.
Supports clients with Activities of Daily Living, including transportation, cooking, dressing, undressing, bathing, showering, combing hair, trimming nails, and restroom assistance.
Aids clients with bowel and bladder programs, feeding (G-tubes), wound care, and transfers.
Maintains awareness of clients' health, monitors vitals, promotes positive behavior, attends medical appointments, and ensures accurate information is relayed between medical providers and care teams.
Manages client medication needs and oversees their implementation.
Connects clients with community opportunities to develop relationships and supports their employment, educational, and volunteer interests and goals.
Requirements
Two-year degree or minimum 2 years’ equivalent work experience.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Ability to become certified in CPR/First Aid.
Commitment to scheduled shifts, assigned duties, and performance expectations.
Basic computer skills.
