Lead Registered Veterinary Technician - Campus Veterinary Clinic
About the role
Campus Veterinary Clinic is seeking a Lead Registered Veterinary Technician to join our dedicated team in Berkeley, California. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience as a Veterinary Technician or Assistant, be registered in California, and possess strong leadership and supervisory skills.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and support the Practice Manager with being a point of contact on the floor for technicians and veterinarians.
- Perform complete dental prophylaxis with radiographs.
- Skilled in IV Catheter placement, urinary catheter placement, applying casts, bandages and splints.
- Provide general nursing care including fluid therapy, vital monitoring, pain assessment and management.
- Anesthesia monitoring and surgical experience including intubation, monitoring, pre-operative and post-operative care.
- Laboratory skills including cytology set-up and interpretation; Idexx laboratory equipment.
- Diagnostic experience including digital radiology, dental radiology, and ultrasound-guided cystocentesis.
- Education clients on animal care, medications, nutrition, and post-treatment instructions.
- Handle stressful or emotional situations professionally.
- Adapt to working well with current doctors and team members.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Requirements
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in California required – or eligibility to transfer/acquire state licensure within 3 months of hire.
- Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of industry tools and equipment.
- Compassionate and calm demeanor with animals and clients.
- Experience with proper animal handling and restraint; Fear-Free and low stress handling preferred.
- Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare.
- Strong pharmacology knowledge including dosages, routes, side effects and proper administration.

Pay
Starting at $28 - $39 per hour, depending on experience, education, licensure, and certifications. Additional: $500.00 sign-on bonus!
Schedule
We are open Monday - Friday 7:30am - 6pm, shifts starting at 7:00am. Saturday coverage is not required at this time. Closed on Sunday and all federal holidays.
