About the role
The Lead Rec-Plex Attendant serves as a part-time shift leader responsible for supporting daily facility operations, with a strong emphasis on customer service, staff oversight, and administrative support. This position ensures a safe, welcoming, and well-managed environment by supervising staff, assisting patrons, and maintaining efficient front desk and facility operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to part-time staff during assigned shifts.
- Serve as the primary point of contact during assigned shifts in the absence of full-time leadership.
- Monitor daily operations to ensure assigned tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures and communicate operational updates to supervisors.
- Answer and direct phone calls; take messages; respond to general inquiries with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Greet visitors; provide information, handouts, and direction to appropriate personnel.
- Register participants for programs and activities; collect fees and issue receipts.
- Issue permits and communicate policies clearly and accurately.
- Maintain and utilize the department’s computer system for reservations and scheduling.
- Process registrations for programs, classes, and facility rentals; maintain accurate participant and financial records.
- Receive and process payments (in-person, mail, or drop box) ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Respond to customer questions, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Assist with program and event setup, execution, and breakdown.
- Perform general housekeeping duties (sweeping, mopping, cleaning restrooms, stocking supplies, etc.).
- Distribute promotional materials and assist with community outreach efforts.
- Support inventory management and distribution of recreation equipment.
- Perform basic bookkeeping tasks including daily deposits and purchase documentation.
- Maintain calendars, schedules, and facility usage tracking.
- Attend staff meetings, trainings, and approved professional development opportunities.
- Provide support to other staff as needed and complete additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
