Lead Radiology Tech Diagnostic
Job Summary
Demonstrates the ability to adapt technique/treatment to age of population served, including newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, while providing care/service with respect to cultural differences and spiritual needs.
Positions and prepares patients for exams according to the type of procedure to be performed.
Performs procedures and assesses patients throughout and responds to patients needs as appropriate.
Completes appropriate documentation for each study performed.
Performs all computer and PACS functions.
Observes safety regulations and aseptic practice techniques to protect patients and staff.
Demonstrates knowledge of Universal protocols.
Uses professional judgment and critical thinking when performing procedures.
Participates in orientation and training of new staff members and instructs students during their clinical rotations.
Operates radiation-producing equipment and applies radiation-protection techniques to take radiographs in all environments including Fluoroscopy, the Operating Room, the Emergency Department, and portable exams.
Participates in the improvement of operational functions of the department.
Maintains effective and respectful communication in development of all collaborative relationships.
Participates in the selection, hiring and on-boarding of therapists.
Aids in patient satisfaction and communication: performs AIDET audits and waiting room rounds.
Coaches staff to improve technical skills and adherence to the Standards of Behavior.
Qualifications
- Required: Registration, Licensure or Certification: Current registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, Current certification as a Radiologic Technologist by the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts, Current Basic Life Support (BLS) verification course through the American Heart Assoc. or American Red Cross - Healthcare Provider CPR Required.
- Education or Experience: Minimum one year of experience in Diagnostic position, Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology, Preferred: One year of experience in an Imaging Department.
