The Lead Quality Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and evaluating integrated systems for managing industrial production processes. This includes human factors, quality control, inventory control, logistics and material flow, cost analysis, and production coordination.
Responsibilities
- Provide support and technical quality guidance for the three product lines covering around 85% of plant overall revenue besides all intercompany quality interaction.
- Complete process flow diagrams, process failure mode and effect analysis, standard work, and control plans.
- Monitor original equipment manufacturer websites, talk to and visit customers for complaint resolution as applicable.
- Complete 8-Ds and A3s, and perform data analysis on problem areas to solve problems reviewing inputs from various stakeholders and make recommendations accordingly.
- Support ongoing improvement on overall equipment effectiveness and develop capability, Gage R&R, and runoff criteria as needed for new or existing equipment and processes.
- Oversee advanced quality product planning and production part approval process documents and process.
- Complete process audits, initiate corrective actions, lead cost save/variation reduction projects and other tasks as required.
- Mentor fellow employees on quality principles, standards, internal & external requirements.
- Support cost out project initiatives to closure such as VA/VEs (value analysis/value engineering).
- Evaluate 8Ds complete by fellow quality engineers for effectiveness.
- Investigate and troubleshoot problems and requirements of projects and develop plans for solutions.
Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum three (3) years experience in quality and/or engineering

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical and/or Industrial Engineering
- Experience with process mapping for manufacturing and/or assembly
- Leverage Six Sigma Certification (Green belt or Black belt)
- Experience in automotive manufacturing quality
- Experience with supplier quality and customer contact

- Collaborative approach to driving change and leveraging cross-divisional expertise
- Experience with project/program management
- Conducting capability analysis
- Analyzing cost of poor quality, defects per million
- Designing experiments and gauging accuracy, repeatability and reproducibility
- Working with histograms, multivariance analysis, normal distributions, probability, six sigma, standard deviation, as well as statistical control and variation
- Working with control plans
