Lead Pulmonary Laboratory Technician

About the role

The Lead Pulmonary Laboratory Technician oversees the operation, upgrade, maintenance, and education for the Pulmonary Blood Gas Laboratory. This role also involves providing clinical education to staff and developing, maintaining, and implementing departmental policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate, upgrade, and maintain blood gas laboratory equipment
• Provide clinical education to staff
• Develop, maintain, and implement departmental policies and procedures
• Perform and teach arterial blood drawing and analysis
• Conduct quality control and maintenance procedures for blood gas machines

Requirements

• Graduation from a formal respiratory care program
• Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or related science (preferred)
• Experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of blood gas machines
• Licensed by the State of California as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS/CPR certification

Pay

$36.50 - $54.76 per hour. The posted range reflects the lowest to highest pay available at the time of posting and may be subject to change. Salary offers are determined by the candidate’s relevant experience and skills. For per diem positions, a standard rate is used based on market data and not the candidate’s individual experience.
