Primary Responsibilities
- Program Facilitation (50% of time)
- Program Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation (40% of time)
- Staff Development & Supervision (10% of time)
Secondary Responsibilities
- Supports Base Camp operations
- Supports other council operations
Qualifications
- General: Age 21 or older, proficient in English, high school diploma or equivalent, Bachelor's degree in education preferred
- Experience: Some experience working with urban youth, willing and able to complete required training
- Communication and interpersonal skills: Effective interpersonal communications, ability to work with youth of diverse backgrounds, ability to listen to others' needs and proactively respond appropriately
- Physical activities and requirements: Reaching, standing, walking, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, stretching, repetitive motions, computer keyboarding, driving a motor vehicle
- Mental demands: Reading, detail work, confidentiality, stress, problem solving, language, training, math, reasoning, verbal communication, written communication, customer contact, multiple concurrent tasks, frequent interruptions in a fast-paced environment, continual change
Additional Requirements
- Materials and Equipment Used: 100% of time Motor vehicles, computers/printers, telephone, copiers, current technology tools, visual aids, council service center equipment, etc.
- Physical Activities and Requirements: 100% of time Reaching, standing, walking, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, stretching, repetitive motions, computer keyboarding, driving a motor vehicle
- Working Conditions: Inside and outside environmental conditions
Position Details
- Work schedule: 40 hours per week
- Transportation: Personal vehicle that is reliable, mileage reimbursement at a rate no higher than the current IRS-approved guideline
