About the role
Support the Project Management Team by clarifying project scope, contractual requirements, and deliverable schedules. Contribute to the development of key process philosophies and engineering deliverables for offshore projects.
Responsibilities
- Clarify scope of work and supply details to form the contract basis with the Client.
- Support the Project Management Team on Process deliverable schedule updates.
- Prepare Process Philosophies, including but not limited to:
- Control and shutdown philosophy
- Isolation philosophy
- Sparing philosophy
- P&ID philosophy
- Vent, Relief, and Flare load calculation philosophy
- Develop Process Simulation Heat and Mass Balances (H&M Sheets).
- Prepare Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Utility Flow Diagrams (UFD), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), Cause and Effect Diagrams, and Safe charts.
- Perform Equipment Sizing Calculations (e.g., Separators, Vessels, Storage tanks), Line Sizing Calculations, Hydraulic Analysis, and Flare Network design.
- Prepare and review technical queries, and assist the Lead Engineer in concluding TQs with the Client.
- Conduct process studies such as Dynamic Depressurization studies and prepare reports, including:
- Process System design report
- Vent and drain report
- Utility summary
- Prepare Process datasheets for Mechanical Equipment and Instruments.
- Coordinate with other disciplinary departments to provide process inputs.
- Perform interdisciplinary checks and provide input to other discipline engineering deliverables, such as:
- Mechanical Equipment List (MEL)
- Electrical Load List
- Topsides Weight report
- Mechanical and Instrument datasheets
- Other discipline critical philosophies
- Review Vendor documents and provide comments to ensure alignment with project requirements.
- Update and follow through on Third Party Specialist, Process & Safety studies (review reports, attend workshops, etc.).
- Assist the Lead Engineer in managing interfaces with hull and marine systems such as Cargo and Utilities.
- Provide input to Operating manuals, Pre-commissioning, and commissioning manuals.
- Attend project meetings (intra-discipline, Client, inter-discipline, SCM, Sub-contractor/Vendor/3rd Party) to address engineering issues and progress, and follow through on meeting actions.
- Identify and implement Client’s comments/requirements, provide feedback to Project Management and Commercial teams, and raise trends/potential change orders as necessary.
- Assist the Lead Engineer with project process engineering support from Engineering kickoff through Detail Engineering, As-Built Engineering, Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning, and Warranty Test Run.
- Collect, analyze, and maintain process design data to support project feasibility studies, tender/construction documents, and design drawings.
- Assemble process design engineered submittal manuals/booklets, including drawings, schematics, documents, reports, and calculations, and provide copying support for contractors/customers.
- Liaise with package engineers to obtain updated information and maintain the process design submittal filing system in the engineering reference library.
- Prepare process design project training manuals and owner’s manuals for on-site training to contractors and customers.
- Monitor and follow up on changes updated by junior team members on operational process project drawings, records, and lessons learned during project execution.
Requirements
- Four-year bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related engineering disciplines.
- 10 years of design work experience in the Offshore industry.
- Proficiency with MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Impeccable written and verbal communication skills.
