About the role

In this role, you’ll help us deliver better care for billions of people around the world by providing process engineering support to the Enterprise Capital Engineering team across the tissue value stream. You will lead capital project development, layout, design, installation, and start-up of equipment and ancillary systems to address capacity, capability, innovation, safety, and obsolescence needs for the NA Tissue Value Stream.

• Collaborate across Supply Chain, R&E, Procurement, tissue mill sites, key OEM equipment suppliers, technical service providers, and construction contractor networks.
• Interact frequently within the Tissue Value Stream organization, including Mill Operating Teams, Staff Manufacturing, Research & Development (R&D), Planning, Distribution, and Procurement.
• Lead single or multiple product or process improvement projects with a financial scope of up to $100 million from conception through commercialization, with primary focus on Beech Island OLU project execution.
• Provide functional leadership and creativity in the initiation of design, development, and optimization of manufacturing and converting equipment and processes.
• Develop knowledge and skills in leadership of engineering principles, scientific analysis, and project management.
• Carry out all job responsibilities in a safe manner, ensuring equipment and processes meet safety codes, policies, and guidelines.
• Identify complex technical issues and provide solutions to determine and eliminate root cause.
• Conceive, develop, validate, and share ideas leading to new or improved products, processes, materials, systems, or scientific knowledge aligned with business unit objectives.
• Coach and mentor team members to increase technical understanding and execution capabilities.
• Drive a culture of protected and documented innovation to safeguard Kimberly-Clark proprietary technology, products, and business processes through patents and trade secrets.
• Complete required project documentation through EFS, EDR, and Appropriation activities, following PMP documentation including Corporate Financial Instructions (CFIs).

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or relevant scientific degree.
• 3+ years of related technical experience in mill, production, or staff R&D environments.
• Travel is required for this role, typically 25-30%, with potential for heavier travel during project installations depending on duration or complexity.
• Manufacturing facilities, vendor, or OEM visits as projects dictate (e.g., equipment review, acceptance testing).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in improving the safe operation of high-speed manufacturing and/or converting equipment and processes.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to mine process data to identify opportunity areas for improvement.
• Familiarity with machine startups.
• Experience working with external technical service providers.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and coach less-experienced engineers.
• Evidence of continuing self-development.

Pay

Salary Range: $87,260 – $107,780 USD. Along with base pay, this position offers eligibility for a target bonus and a comprehensive benefits suite. The anticipated base pay range applies to US locations only. Actual pay will depend on location, role, skills, performance, and experience.
