Lead Process Engineer - Angleton, TX

About the role

S&B is currently seeking a talented and dynamic Lead Process Engineer to join our team in Angleton, TX. The Lead Process Engineer will oversee multiple small refining projects in various FEL stages as well as other chemicals projects. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of ten (10) years experience in Process/Design Engineering or related functional areas.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes client requirements and designs process and plant facilities.
• Develops process engineering requirements for the design, control, and operation of a process plant.
• Prepares calculations and design basis for equipment specifications.
• Develops process deliverables including Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Equipment Datasheets, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and Process Specification for Instruments (PSFIs).
• Communicates process design to clients and other design disciplines.
• Participates in process safety reviews.

Qualifications and Experience

• Requires a minimum of ten (10) years experience in Process/Design Engineering or related functional area (or equivalent working knowledge/experience).
• Has proficiency in utilizing various computer software packages and automated engineering design tools.
• Registration as a licensed professional engineer is preferred.

Skills

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
• Ability to correspond with clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
• Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
• Ability to effectively present information to senior management, public groups, or boards of directors.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
