Lead Press Operator - 1st Shift

The Lead Press Operator - 1st Shift at Eaton’s IS VEH EMB division in Carol Stream supports the Production Supervisor by attending Tier 1 meetings, providing classroom and onboarding training, and managing daily operations. Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting the Production Supervisor in Tier 1 meetings
• Leading the team in classroom and onboarding training
• Assigning tasks to employees within the department
• Operating presses to ensure parts meet specifications
• Learning and using auxiliary equipment and basic measuring tools
• Communicating with support teams to solve problems
• Recording and analyzing basic problem-solving information
• Ensuring production goals are met and maintaining standards at the press
• Participating in problem-solving root cause analysis
• Communicating with team members and support teams
• Participating in leadership training
• Reviewing work instructions and suggesting updates
• Visually inspecting production for defects
• Checking and providing necessary materials like lubricants and packaging
• Using basic measuring equipment to verify production
• Achieving production schedules
• Complying with 5S principles

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• No relocation benefit offered
• Must reside within 50 miles of Carol Stream
• Preferred: Leadership experience, previous industrial manufacturing experience, exposure to press operating, and familiarity with the PLEX system
• Ability to communicate effectively in English
