Job Responsibilities
- Architect, deploy, and operate OpenTelemetry-based telemetry pipelines.
- Develop and maintain instrumentation, telemetry, and alerting using tools like Grafana, OpsRamp, ElasticStack, BigPanda, AWS CloudWatch, and Azure Monitor.
- Drive observability standards and best practices across engineering teams.
- Integrate and manage OpenTelemetry for distributed tracing and telemetry data collection.
- Collaborate with application development teams to define observability requirements.
- Embed reliability considerations early in the SDLC.
- Create and maintain dashboards for the Enterprise Monitoring Center.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and observability standards.
- Build automation frameworks for monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
- Drive system optimization through capacity analysis and performance tuning.
- Define, implement, and operationalize SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets.
- Participate in and improve incident response processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in software, systems, or reliability engineering roles.
- Hands-on experience with production observability, monitoring, and SLOs in distributed systems.
