Lead Physical Therapist

We have a wide range of orthopedic surgeons and mid-level providers including physical and occupational therapists. Today we are one of Arizona’s largest privately owned and most comprehensive orthopedic practices with more than 75 locally and nationally renowned providers across 30 locations, in addition to in-house state-of-the-art MRI capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Create/maintain operations for a positive patient experience.
• Manage therapy staff and technicians.
• Manage therapist outcomes, patient satisfaction and compliance.
• Manage and identify staffing needs.
• Hire technicians/sports performance staff and manage performance.
• Serve as a co-signer for new therapists while waiting on credentialing.
• Approve time cards and manage PTO for therapists and technicians.
• Assign a new hire buddy.
• Mentor therapists' performance.
• Mentor therapy students and assign mentors.
• Request contract coverage for therapist PTO.
• Hold department meetings, monthly/quarterly depending on clinic size.
• Manage facility and equipment maintenance.
• Oversee ordering of clinical supplies.
• Manage a patient treatment schedule consistent with the needs of the department.
• Obtain complete medical history and physical data on patients.
• Review pertinent patient records.
• Record all findings.
• Report to Director of Compliance regarding OSHA standards.
• Manage revenue cycle and billing with the manager of Revenue Cycle and Billing.
• Interpret and integrate data to determine and implement appropriate modalities, therapeutic procedures, and splinting needed.
• Develop and implement exercise and home programs as indicated.
• Instruct patients and family regarding rehabilitation.
• Provide patient education.
• Assess and communicate necessary activities and injury prevention.
• Document daily treatment notes in a timely manner.
• Record treatment charges daily and complete charge tickets in an accurate and timely manner.
• Monitor between physician or PA visits.
• Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations.
• Ensure therapy equipment is in proper working order.
• Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants, Physical Therapy Techs, Trainers, and Aides.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of computer programs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform training on practice management software.
• Ability to expand knowledge of electronic medical record software as updates occur.
• Compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures.
• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
• Past National Physical Therapy Examination.
• Maintain Arizona State License.
• Maintain CPR certification.
• Leadership experience preferred.
