Lead Pharmacy Technician - PRN (Cancer Institute)
About the role
Oversees training programs and mentors pharmacy technicians and supports onboarding, competency validation, and peer development.
Serves as a role model for professionalism, accountability, and teamwork.
Serves as a subject matter expert in advanced pharmacy services and operational strategy.
Executes expert-level pharmacy technician duties with mastery across all core and advanced workflows, systems, and operational programs.
Maintains proficiency in all Tech IV functions and provides coverage in any core or advanced pharmacy practice areas as needed.
Serves as a safety advocate and operational lead for medication-use process improvements, compliance initiatives, and adherence to institutional standards.
Works closely with pharmacy leadership, clinical teams, IT, compliance, and other departments to support cross-functional initiatives and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Requirements
- 3+ years of contemporary hospital pharmacy experience.
- Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT).
- NHA Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
- PTCB Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree [Preferred]
- High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

- Knowledge of advanced pharmacy services and operational strategy.
- Ability to execute expert-level pharmacy technician duties with mastery across all core and advanced workflows, systems, and operational programs.
- Proficiency in all Tech IV functions.

- Collaborative support from Pharmacy Technician Specialists as needed to improve or advance targeted pharmacy services.
- Participation in quality improvement efforts, workflow audits, and performance monitoring.
- Ability to direct pharmacy compliance efforts and perpetual accreditation readiness.
