LEAD PERSON--PT Stores (1st shift)

About the Role

To assist supervision (in their presence or absence) in ensuring and improving the performance of their area. The lead person focuses on eliminating or reducing waste and ensuring all operators have what they need to be safe and productive. This role is typically responsible for work in the stores department.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all workstations and tools operate safely and all operators follow safety rules.
• Perform duties of the normal classification.
• Master all jobs in the area and the best standardized work method for each.
• Coordinate activities of co-workers based on direction from Front Line Leaders.
• Train and instruct co-workers in the best standardized work methods.
• Assist operators with minor equipment and tooling problems.
• Resolve departmental problems and report them to supervision.
• Monitor quality levels in the assigned area, take corrective action where possible, and report issues or suggestions to the supervisor.
• Focus on all issues impacting performance today to drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Mastery of workstations/jobs in their area (standard adherence, knowledge, ability to train, and improve standards).
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to coach a Continuous Improvement mindset in daily activities.
