Lead Payroll & Prevailing Wage Specialist

About the role

The Lead Payroll & Prevailing Wage Compliance Analyst based in Orlando, Florida, oversees payroll accuracy and prevailing wage compliance across all projects. This role ensures certified payroll integrity, adherence to IRA and wage regulations, and correct employee payments.

Responsibilities

• Validate timecards, process hours, overtime, and adjustments
• Catch and fix discrepancies before payroll runs
• Own escalations for payroll/timekeeping issues
• Enforce timecard and approval standards
• Train teams on systems and processes
• Lead prevailing wage & IRA compliance
• Validate project data for reporting
• Coordinate wage determinations with stakeholders
• Ensure certified payroll accuracy and compliance
• Advises teams on wage rules and risk
• Align Payroll, HR, Finance, and Ops
• Maintain audit-ready records
• Drive consistent, compliant payroll practices

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Finance, HR, or related
• 5-8+ years’ payroll, HR, and finance experience (more can be considered at a higher level)
• Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) Guidebook and prevailing wage requirements essential
• Demonstrated ownership of payroll and compliance processes, certified payroll, and timekeeping regulations
• Experience with ERP payroll, HR modules, databases & tables (SAP and Oracle preferred, but not required)
• Strong communication and analytical skills, able to partner across stakeholders and present insights to leadership
