The Lead serves as a department resource to registration and financial counseling staff, leading by example and pursuing goals under the direction of management.

Responsibilities

  • Provides guidance and support to registration and financial counseling staff.
  • Manages workflow and ensures smooth operations within the department.
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of registrations and financial transactions.
  • Communicates effectively with patients/guarantors, insurance companies, and physicians.
  • Verifies insurance claims and handles collections and billing processes.
  • Leads by example, demonstrating exceptional registration, communication, and teamwork skills.

Requirements

  • Two years of previous work-related experience in a physician, medical office, or hospital registration and/or financial counseling setting with insurance verification, collections, and/or billing.
  • Experience in leadership or supervision, along with a college degree or evidence of continuing education, is preferred.
  • Attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with various stakeholders.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise independent judgment.
  • Mature, dependable, and conscientious behavior.
  • Confidentiality maintained at all times.
  • Bilingual skills are preferred.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Knowledge and skills in attention to detail, effective communication, and problem-solving.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office.
  • Physical abilities to perform essential job functions, such as using a computer, ten-key, copy machine, fax machine, and credit card device.
