The Lead serves as a department resource to registration and financial counseling staff, leading by example and pursuing goals under the direction of management.
Responsibilities
- Provides guidance and support to registration and financial counseling staff.
- Manages workflow and ensures smooth operations within the department.
- Ensures accurate and timely processing of registrations and financial transactions.
- Communicates effectively with patients/guarantors, insurance companies, and physicians.
- Verifies insurance claims and handles collections and billing processes.
- Leads by example, demonstrating exceptional registration, communication, and teamwork skills.
Requirements
- Two years of previous work-related experience in a physician, medical office, or hospital registration and/or financial counseling setting with insurance verification, collections, and/or billing.
- Experience in leadership or supervision, along with a college degree or evidence of continuing education, is preferred.
- Attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with various stakeholders.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently and exercise independent judgment.
- Mature, dependable, and conscientious behavior.
- Confidentiality maintained at all times.
- Bilingual skills are preferred.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Knowledge and skills in attention to detail, effective communication, and problem-solving.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Physical abilities to perform essential job functions, such as using a computer, ten-key, copy machine, fax machine, and credit card device.
