About the role
Baptist Health seeks an exemplary team member to serve as a preceptor for new hires in Patient Access. This role involves coordinating patient flow, timely processing, and addressing patient questions or concerns. The incumbent will also take on a leadership role in the absence of a Manager/Supervisor, maintain knowledge of insurance requirements, BHSF pricing, financial assistance options, and overall Revenue Cycle operations. They will assist in supporting go-lives and different departmental initiatives, participate in departmental committees, and champion opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate patient flow and timely processing
- Maintain knowledge and deployment of practices within the department/physician practice/hospital
- Serve as a Patient Access resource and take on leadership role in absence of Manager/Supervisor
- Support go-lives and departmental initiatives
- Participate in departmental committees/champion opportunities

Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years Patient Access experience
- Maintains/exceeds BHSF registration accuracy and productivity standards for at least the most recent 12 months
- Maintains departmental KPIs
- Maintains a positive attitude, is self-motivated, and encourages others
- Cross-trained in multiple areas/product lines/practices to substitute all staff positions as needed
- Knowledge of healthcare regulatory guidelines, including HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, and Medicare coverage structure, including medical necessity compliance guidelines
- Understanding of insurance contracts, collections, authorizations, and pre-certifications, Microsoft Office products, and EMR applications
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Bilingual English, Spanish/Creole preferred

Pay
The estimated pay range for this position is $18.87 - $23.96 / hour depending on experience.
