Position Summary
The Lead Paramedic will provide emergency medical and trauma care to patients in various settings. Responsibilities include performing triage, delivering urgent care, and managing patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- May perform DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing - training provided
- Prepare patients for physical examinations, including taking vital signs and ancillary testing
- Determine nature and extent of illness or injury to establish first aid procedures
- Assist clients with case management of injuries and follow-up care
- Dispense medications and DME as ordered by the treating clinician
- Administer prescribed first-aid treatment, including application of splints, oxygen administration, and artificial resuscitation
- Communicate with emergency treatment facility professionals for further treatment and patient reception
- Maintain supplies, clean equipment, and ensure the facility operates efficiently
- Complete quality assurance activities on equipment and medical devices
- Notify supervisor of equipment issues, supply needs, or facility operational concerns
- Aid clients with wellness activities
- Follow HIPAA guidelines and safety rules
- Attend client safety team meetings or huddles as required
Education/Credentials
- High School Diploma or GED
- Major: Degree from an accredited college or university
- Certifications and Licenses: Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedic, CPR/First Aid Certification, Drug Screen Collection, Breath Alcohol Certification, Hair and Oral Fluids Collection certifications, OSHA safety certifications or experience, ARC/CPR Instructor, BLS and ACLS Certification
Experience
- Customarily has at least 3 years of 911 experience
- Fire Fighter experience a plus
