Position Summary

The Lead Paramedic will provide emergency medical and trauma care to patients in various settings. Responsibilities include performing triage, delivering urgent care, and managing patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • May perform DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing - training provided
  • Prepare patients for physical examinations, including taking vital signs and ancillary testing
  • Determine nature and extent of illness or injury to establish first aid procedures
  • Assist clients with case management of injuries and follow-up care
  • Dispense medications and DME as ordered by the treating clinician
  • Administer prescribed first-aid treatment, including application of splints, oxygen administration, and artificial resuscitation
  • Communicate with emergency treatment facility professionals for further treatment and patient reception
  • Maintain supplies, clean equipment, and ensure the facility operates efficiently
  • Complete quality assurance activities on equipment and medical devices
  • Notify supervisor of equipment issues, supply needs, or facility operational concerns
  • Aid clients with wellness activities
  • Follow HIPAA guidelines and safety rules
  • Attend client safety team meetings or huddles as required

Education/Credentials

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Major: Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Certifications and Licenses: Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedic, CPR/First Aid Certification, Drug Screen Collection, Breath Alcohol Certification, Hair and Oral Fluids Collection certifications, OSHA safety certifications or experience, ARC/CPR Instructor, BLS and ACLS Certification

Experience

  • Customarily has at least 3 years of 911 experience
  • Fire Fighter experience a plus

  • Demonstrated ability to use judgement and perform critical thinking
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and data entry into various systems/applications
