Lead Package Systems Integration Leader
About the role
The Aeroderivative Systems Integration Leader (SIL) is a critical role in the systems engineering team to execute package programs in partnership with the cross-discipline engineering team. The SIL may be responsible for a variety of New Product Introduction (NPI) programs for the assigned gas turbine generator package including Options, Operability and Product Cost Out (PCO) programs. The SIL may also be responsible for FPC programs such as Reliability and Maintenance (RAM) or Supply Chain Support programs. This leader defines detailed work scope to achieve the product requirements, makes system level trades, sets program priorities, and manages assigned program budget/schedule. Systems integration engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered around a systems thinking approach and the product development process. This includes all activities that consider both the business and the technical needs of the customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the users needs. Systems engineers execute a robust process of design and system optimization by: evaluating the engineering team ability to meet system requirements; developing alternate system design concepts; performing engineering trade studies to meet requirements; selecting and implementing safe, quality designs; verifying that the design is properly integrated and executed.
Responsibilities
- Partners with cross-discipline engineering teams to develop program plans that meet technical, production, and business requirements. Program plans include schedule, cost, and incorporating risk mitigation plans for a scope of work.
- Translates product requirements into documented technical requirements for the engineering team to achieve.
- Leads execution with engineering teams to ensure program plans are progressing to deliver on-time and within budget for a set scope of work from program scoping to validation completion.
- Resolves system level technical issues.
- Performs trade studies with engineering teams to ensure PRD CTQ’s are met.
- Defines scope, schedule, cost, and risk mitigation plans to achieve technical product requirements for package proposals outside of quoting limits.
- Demonstrates clear technical communication skills across engineering, commercial and supply chain organizations.
- Participates as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews with engineering leadership.
- Provides timely communication and recommendations on significant issues or developments to senior leadership teams.
