About the role
The Lead Automation Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance on industrial equipment, including but not limited to electric forklifts, racking, dock & doors, scissor lifts, tuggers, floor scrubbers, golf carts, robotics, conveyor systems, case sealers & erectors.
Responsibilities
- Point of contact for customers
- Performing and completing PMs & repairs
- Facilitating work/Repair requests
- Providing shift coverage
- Willing to be On Call
- Communicating PTO coverage plans with customers
- Cooking Warranty requests
- Facilitating outside vendor work (PO process and billing)
- Facilitating all outside of scope work
- Parts Ordering and Inventory Management (5S Inventory Skills)
- Filling out and completing daily work orders
- Attending and completing Monthly safety training requirements
- Troubleshooting equipment failures, including root cause analysis
- Completing all repairs of equipment in a timely manner and by the manufacturer’s repair guidelines
- Inspection of Equipment
- Communications
- Timely and accurate completion of all work orders and service records per the Concentric time standard
- Maintaining accurate and timely entry of work hours in Paylocity time keeping platform
- Safety
Requirements
- A High School or GED Diploma required
- A minimum of 5 years of Automation experience
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience as an Industrial Maintenance Tech/forklift technician/automation bots/technology savvy
- Must have experience with Electric Forklifts (Crown preferred)
- Must understand how to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical components involving wiring diagrams and schematics, general abilities in laptop software to identify issues with automation equipment going offline
- Strong Electrical troubleshooting skills, 480v, 240v, 24v, 48v
- Able to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, hydraulic diagrams, pneumatic prints
- Able to organize his/her own work and work independently, with limited supervision
- Able to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and with diverse needs, and across remote offices
- Strong Mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Basic plumbing skills
- Basic handyman skills
Qualifications
- ELECTRICAL- 480V, VFD’s, Relays, Motor Controls, electric motors, HMI’s, Contactors, Timers, Proximity Sensors/Switches, Electro-Mechanical background, Industrial Batteries. Allen Bradley PLC experience a plus!
- Mechanical- Gear boxes, Chains, Sprockets, MHE Equipment/Electric Forklifts, Hydraulic systems, Dock, and Door experience. Arc, Mig, and Tig welding experience preferred.
