Lead .NET Developer | Location: Hartford, CT | Contract | Hourly Pay Range $60-$66 Join a forward-thinking team as a Lead .NET Developer, where you'll provide technical leadership within a modern Microsoft technology environment. This role offers the chance to influence architecture, lead platform modernization efforts, and guide multiple teams in delivering scalable, secure, and maintainable enterprise solutions. Key Responsibilities Architect and design scalable, resilient enterprise solutions using modern .NET technologies.Lead architectural governance and ensure alignment with enterprise standards.Drive platform modernization initiatives, including migration from legacy .NET Framework applications to current platforms.Establish and promote engineering standards, best practices, and development methodologies.Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence.Lead technical reviews, architecture discussions, and strategic technology decisions.Document and defend architectural decisions through ADRs and design documents.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption strategies aligned with organizational goals.Support implementation of cloud-native architectures, microservices, and API-first design.Drive automation in deployment, testing, and operational practices to improve system reliability and efficiency.Partner with security teams to embed security and privacy considerations into architecture and delivery. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.Extensive experience in enterprise application development with C#, ASP.NET, ASP.NET Core, and modern .NET platforms.Proven experience designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems in production.Strong understanding of software architecture principles and patterns, with sound judgment on when to apply them.Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives across multiple teams without direct authority.Experience delivering cloud-based solutions, preferably in Azure.Strong problem-solving skills, including diagnosing production incidents in complex systems.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications Experience with cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure, at an enterprise level.Knowledge of platform engineering and internal developer platform practices.Familiarity with event-driven architecture and messaging platforms.Experience building mission-critical applications with defined SLAs/SLOs.Background in regulated industries such as healthcare, financial services, or pharmaceuticals.Leading large-scale legacy modernization or cloud migration programs.Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert.Experience with SRE practices, including SLOs, error budgets, and incident management.Contributions to open source projects, technical publications, or industry conferences.Experience integrating AI/GenAI capabilities into enterprise solutions.
