About the role

The Multi-Modality Lead Tech reports to the manager of CT. They are responsible for assisting the CT Manager with daily operations of the BBEMC radiology department. They will be responsible for monitoring the BBEMC radiology staff, prioritizing patient workload and providing guidance and accountability to team members. They must be able to fully function in all areas of the department. They are expected to provide quality imaging and patient care within two or more imaging modalities-CT and Xray. The technologist must be able to effectively explain the procedures to the patient and be sure they are competent in the procedure being performed. The technologist must produce images for the interpretation, and or request of, a licensed practitioner.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the CT Manager with daily operations of the BBEMC radiology department
  • Monitor the BBEMC radiology staff, prioritizing patient workload and providing guidance and accountability to team members
  • Provide quality imaging and patient care within two or more imaging modalities-CT and Xray
  • Effectively explain the procedures to the patient and ensure they are competent in the procedure being performed
  • Produce images for the interpretation, and or request of, a licensed practitioner

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology
  • One year of radiologic experience
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), CT and licensed by the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association

Qualifications

  • Must be able to produce very high-quality special imaging with little supervision
  • Able to function effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Familiar with age specific criteria
  • One year of experience as a registered Radiological Technologist as well as CT
  • Certification is required in CT
  • Must be CPR certified

  • Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working indoors, working outside in temperature extremes, working from elevated areas, working in confined/cramped spaces, bending at the waist, twisting at the waist, squatting, performing pinching operations, performing gross motor activities with fingers and hands, performing firm grasping with fingers and hands, performing fine manipulation with fingers and hands, reaching overhead, performing repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, using both legs, using lower extremities for balance and coordination, reaching in all directions, lifting and carrying 50 lbs. unassisted, lifting/lowering objects 50 lbs. from/to floor from/to 36 inches unassisted, lifting from 36" to overhead 25 lbs., exerting up to 50 lbs. of force, maintaining 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes, seeing and recognizing objects close at hand or at a distance, matching or discriminating between colors, determining distance/relationship between objects; depth perception, having good peripheral vision capabilities, maintaining hearing acuity, with correction, performing gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements, dealing effectively with stressful situations, working rotating shifts, working overtime as required, working in a latex safe environment, maintaining tactile sensory functions, and if selected, maintaining good olfactory sensory function and being qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required.
