Lead MRI Technologist - Up to $20,000 Sign On Bonus

About the role

Under the general supervision of the Manager of MRI and Medical Director MRI, this position is responsible for performing MR procedures requiring advanced techniques. Functions as a lead resource, providing technical guidance, instruction, and supervision to technologists. Assists in interpreting, communicating, and administering policies and procedures. Performs clerical and administrative tasks to support efficient operation and patient records. Instructs Radiology students and employees in clinical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and complex MRI imaging procedures with minimal technical supervision.
• Provides clinical instruction and guidance to Radiology Technology students and employees.
• Performs clerical and administrative tasks such as inventory, supply ordering, compiling statistics, and equipment maintenance.
• Adheres to MRI magnetic field safety guidelines (Policy MRI-02).
• Assumes charge responsibility in the absence of the MRI Manager, directing and coordinating the work of others.
• Provides input for performance appraisals, competency evaluations, QA reviews, and corrective actions.

Requirements

• Registered and in good standing with the American Registry of Radiological Technology (ARRT) or the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).
• Current CPR certification from AHA (BLS for Healthcare Providers).
• Thorough knowledge of MRI procedures, cross-sectional anatomy, advanced MRI applications, and computer operations.
• One year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital radiology department, plus one year of specialized training in MRI unit operation.
• Demonstrated ability to provide care to patients of all ages, including neonates, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
• Analytical skills to compile and interpret routine data and organize work.

Skills

• Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, staff, and physicians under stress.
• Ability to troubleshoot MRI equipment and arrange for repairs.
• Ability to insert and remove IVs for contrast administration and administer IM injections per radiologist instructions.
• Physical ability to lift and move patients, manipulate MR coils, and position equipment.
• Ability to hear verbal requests and see clearly in the MRI environment.
• Ability to work in an environment with high magnetic fields, acoustic noise, and occasional RF exposure.

Pay

$45.80–$75.58 per hour.

Schedule

• Monday–Thursday, 9:00 PM–6:30 AM (night shift).
• 10-hour daily shifts.
