About the role

The Lead Coach at Brainerd Public Schools is responsible for leading daily practices and competitions for middle school/junior high athletes. Responsibilities include preparing practices, supervising events, providing guidance, and maintaining equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and facilitates successful practices.
• Leads students and team members during meets/matches/games.
• Provides leadership and guidance to Assistant Coach.
• Motivates participants/athletes to achieve maximum potential.
• Maintains equipment and uniforms.
• Supervises all areas of participation including gyms, fields, arenas, locker or dressing rooms, buses, etc.
• Works collaboratively with staff, Assistant Activities Director, families, and community resources.
• Maintains compliance with all rules and regulations.
• Complies with and supports all school district regulations and policies.

Qualifications

• High school degree, GED, or equivalent.
• Ability to work effectively with parents, students, and other staff.
• Previous experience as a Head Coach preferred.
• Willingness to accept and follow direction.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
• General office skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
