About the Role
The Lead Coach provides leadership and expertise regarding the rules, strategies, and techniques for girls soccer, utilizing knowledge of the specific equipment, physical fitness, and safety to prepare participants mentally and physically. The focus is to condition athletes with developmental and age-appropriate activities that include endurance, strength, and agility.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and facilitates successful practices.
- Leads students and team members during meets/matches/games.
- Provides leadership and guidance to Assistant Coach.
- Encourages student participation and establishes rapport.
- Motivates participants/athletes to achieve maximum potential.
- Maintains equipment and uniforms.
- Supervises all areas of participation including but not limited to: gyms, fields, arenas, locker or dressing rooms, buses, etc.
- Works collaboratively with staff, Assistant Activities Director, families, and community resources.
- Maintains compliance with all rules and regulations.
- Complies with and supports all school district regulations and policies.
- Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Assistant Director of Activities.
Requirements
- High school degree, GED, or equivalent.
- Ability to work effectively with parents, students, and other staff.
- Previous experience as a Head Coach preferred.
- Willingness to accept and follow direction.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- General office skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
