Lead Middle School Custodian at Redmond Middle School
Schedule
8 hours per day on a 12-month working calendar. Shift: 2:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.; subject to change.
Location
Redmond Middle School (located within the Redmond Learning Community).
Pay
Hourly rate: $33.14.
About the role
Responsible for sanitation, maintenance, safety, comfort and security of school or district buildings to create and maintain a safe and pleasant environment for students and staff. Communicates regularly with the Head Custodian and building administration to ensure maintenance of the building after regular hours. Communicates all information regarding building and staff from the night custodians to the Head Custodian.
Requirements
- High school diploma, G.E.D., or work experience related to core functions of the position.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Post-employment physical required.
- Must pass criminal background check.
Working Environment
In terms of an 8-hour workday:
- Occasionally (1–33%): sit; lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
- Frequently (34–66%): lift and/or carry up to 25 lbs.; bend, squat, crawl, climb, and reach above shoulder level; twist; use both left and right hands for repetitive actions such as grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
- Continuously (67–100%): walk and stand.
On an occasional basis will be exposed to unprotected heights, dust, fumes, gases and commercial-strength chemicals, marked changes in temperature/humidity, and around moving machinery.
Generally, the job requires 65% walking, 20% standing, and 15% sitting.
