Williams-Sonoma’s agile and capable distribution network includes:

• Over 4,000 full-time associates across the Supply Chain
• 14.5 million square feet of small parcel, personalization, furniture, and manufacturing space in the domestic US
• Large package/furniture distribution centers in Southern California, Northern California, Texas, Georgia, and New Jersey totaling 9.2 million square feet, plus 1.2 million square feet of standalone final-mile furniture hubs

About the Role

The Lead Merchandise Processor position is located in Tracy, CA. In this role, you will:

• Work closely with management in the daily operations for the department
• Work cooperatively and harmoniously with manager, co-workers, and others
• Participate in daily start-up meetings and communicate daily/weekly goals for the department
• Work with the Ops Manager on specific service metrics related to safety, service, quality, and cost
• Promote safety awareness and cultivate the safety culture through the company
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by communicating safety topics and conducting safety audits
• Lead continuous improvement and provide exceptional customer service to stores and customers
• Coordinate team assignments by balancing resources as volume requires
• Provide training, productivity reporting, and feedback on staff errors daily
• Lead staff to ensure effectiveness and productivity metrics are met
• Train and direct a team of associates to achieve departmental and division production goals
• Share business information with teammates through floor presence and suggest improvements
• Control workflow on the floor, prioritizing team goals to ensure deadlines are met
• Track productivity, research and resolve issues, and provide feedback on performance
• Handle escalations, follow up on weekly incident reports, and review customer surveys
• Perform functions using systems such as MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, CCUI, Crystal Reports, Qlikview, Yard View, and WMOS
• Create reports as requested, conduct root cause analysis, and summarize data to drive improvement
• Support department housekeeping, maintaining a clean and orderly work area
• Complete other projects as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• At least 1 year of experience in distribution, manufacturing, or retail environment
• In lieu of distribution, manufacturing, or retail experience, 5 years of progressive work experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook)
• Ability to multitask and be extremely detailed while performing tasks and reports
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working with WMOS, Qlikview, and Yard View

Preferred Qualifications

• College or certificate in logistics, distribution, or manufacturing
• At least 4 years of supervisory experience in distribution or manufacturing environment
• At least 1 year of experience working with MS Access

Physical Requirements

• Able to bend, reach, squat, and climb stairs/ladders
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
• Comfortable walking/standing 90% of the day
