Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Leadership & Team Management
- Supervise and support in the day-to-day execution of program responsibilities.
- Orient, train, and onboard outsource staff on program-specific workflows, clinical protocols, and documentation requirements.
- Coverage coordination and ensure appropriate coverage across all Wound Care Programs.
- Serve as the first point of escalation for staff questions, workflow concerns, and patient-related issues.
- Lead regular team huddles and participate in departmental meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
- Foster a collaborative, professional, and accountable team environment.
- Clinical & Administrative Oversight
- Maintain accurate treatment logs, wound measurement tracking, and prior authorization documentation.
- Ensure accurate and complete ICD-10 coding and clinical documentation.
- Monitor compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and documentation standards.
- Aid in resolving operational issues and proactively communicate supply needs and workflow concerns to the Program Director.
- Quality & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to established clinical protocols and best practices.
- Support quality assurance initiatives and process improvement efforts.
- Monitor documentation accuracy and completeness to support compliance and reimbursement requirements.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate Degree or a related healthcare field preferred.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent certification preferred.
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of clinical Medical Assistant experience required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of wound care or specialty clinic experience strongly preferred.
- Previous lead, charge, or supervisory experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, mentor, and hold team members accountable in a professional and respectful manner.
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and healthcare documentation practices.
