Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Team Management
    • Supervise and support in the day-to-day execution of program responsibilities.
    • Orient, train, and onboard outsource staff on program-specific workflows, clinical protocols, and documentation requirements.
    • Coverage coordination and ensure appropriate coverage across all Wound Care Programs.
    • Serve as the first point of escalation for staff questions, workflow concerns, and patient-related issues.
    • Lead regular team huddles and participate in departmental meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
    • Foster a collaborative, professional, and accountable team environment.
  • Clinical & Administrative Oversight
    • Maintain accurate treatment logs, wound measurement tracking, and prior authorization documentation.
    • Ensure accurate and complete ICD-10 coding and clinical documentation.
    • Monitor compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and documentation standards.
    • Aid in resolving operational issues and proactively communicate supply needs and workflow concerns to the Program Director.
  • Quality & Compliance
    • Ensure adherence to established clinical protocols and best practices.
    • Support quality assurance initiatives and process improvement efforts.
    • Monitor documentation accuracy and completeness to support compliance and reimbursement requirements.

    Education & Certifications

    • High School Diploma or GED required.
    • Associate Degree or a related healthcare field preferred.
    • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent certification preferred.
    • Current CPR/BLS certification preferred.

    Experience & Qualifications

    • Minimum of three (3) years of clinical Medical Assistant experience required.
    • Minimum of one (1) year of wound care or specialty clinic experience strongly preferred.
    • Previous lead, charge, or supervisory experience preferred.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, mentor, and hold team members accountable in a professional and respectful manner.
    • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced clinical environment.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and healthcare documentation practices.
