Lead Medical Assistant
About the role
The Medical Assistant (MA) IV works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. An MA IV is capable of performing all aspects of the MA I, MA II, and MA III roles. Additionally, the MA IV serves in a leader role or is highly skilled and trained in multiple complex specialty areas and oversees ambassadors, change agents, quality champions, and preceptors within the clinic.
Ages of patients served: Birth and above.
Responsibilities
- Perform all duties of MA I, MA II, and MA III roles.
- Serve in a leadership capacity within the clinic.
- Oversee ambassadors, change agents, quality champions, and preceptors.
- Provide patient care under the delegation of a licensed practitioner.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands-on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants, or
- Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program, or
- Completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces.
- National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association (within 30 days of hire).
- 3 years of medical assisting experience in a clinic setting.
- 3 years of experience providing a high level of customer service in a fast-paced environment, including handling confidential data with discretion.
- 6 months of working experience in a PSJH clinic within the last 3 years, or 18 months of experience in a Lead MA role in a clinical setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- National Medical Assistant Certification upon hire.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $28.93 - $44.27 per hour. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
Schedule
Full time, Day shift.
