Lead Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

• Enters patient intake and provider orders into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
• Requests medical records
• Utilizes Pharmacy Database Monitoring Program as directed by providers
• Records vital signs and medical history
• Collects patient information
• Facilitates patient flow

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of Internet and Microsoft Office software
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including exceptional customer service
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Ability to work individually and within a team
• Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions
• Ability to work a flexible schedule
• Ability to respond with patience and understanding during stressful conditions related to patient health and emergent situations
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong organization skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Maintain and project a professional attitude and appearance at all times
• Working knowledge of the healthcare field and medical terminology

Qualifications

• Completion of a Nurse Aide, Medical Assistant, or EMS training program, with a current Nurse Aide certification from the State of Maryland OR a Medical Assistant certification OR EMS Licensure
• One (1) year of prior experience working in a medical practice
• One (1) year of prior experience working with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
