About the role

The Lead Medical Assistant is the first point of contact for patient care. They perform clinical duties such as discussing symptoms, obtaining vital signs, medication/vaccine administration, phlebotomy, collecting specimens, performing diagnostic screening tests, sterilizing/cleaning equipment, maintaining examination rooms, and documenting information into the electronic medical records system. They collaborate closely with Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers and deliver direct patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Addressing administrative duties alongside patient care responsibilities.
  • Assuming ownership and leading advanced and specialized administrative, operational, and customer support duties.
  • Overseeing work of others and being the primary administrative owner of main processes, programs, products, or technologies.
  • Delivering in-depth education/training and providing advanced guidance/mentoring to other Medical Assistants.
  • Performing clinical duties including phlebotomy, specimen collection, and documentation.
  • Collaborating with Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers.
  • Leading and managing an administrative work group or external vendors.
  • Ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Use certified or registered Phlebotomy skills.
  • Experience with medication/vaccine administration.
  • At least 3 years of Medical Assistant experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • CPR Certification.
  • Preferred 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience in PCO centers.
  • Patient-facing role and participation in the company's TB screening program.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (must pass proficiency exam).
  • Knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience.
  • Experience in Value-Based Care.

Skills

  • Advanced skills and knowledge in medical assisting.
  • Ability to lead and manage administrative tasks.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to make decisions independently.

Pay and Schedule

$48,300 - $65,900 per year. Scheduled 40 hours per week. Local travel may be required; mileage is reimbursed.
