Lead Medical Assistant

About the role

Cardiology Consultants of Philadelphia (CCP) is a professional medical organization committed to the healing mission of Medicine and part of a national cardiology platform, Cardiovascular Logistics (CVL). Together they provide the highest quality cardiovascular care. CCP specializes in comprehensive cardiology care with over 30 locations in the Philadelphia region. They are hiring a full‑time Lead Medical Assistant for the South Philadelphia, PA office, a position that requires travel.

Responsibilities

• Place patients in exam rooms, take vital signs & basic health history, update EMR
• Perform EKGs
• Work the prescription refill voicemail line
• Make patient phone calls to confirm appointments, report testing results, answer basic and more complex healthcare questions
• May perform stress testing, Holter monitoring, ambucor, warfarin monitoring, and other testing under physician guidance
• Perform most, if not all, level III MA responsibilities
• Assist in hiring, training and reviewing performance of staff
• Coordinate day‑to‑day workflows of department
• Develop and oversee department schedules
• Ensure adherence to departmental policies and procedures

Requirements

• Certified or registered Medical Assistant
• BLS required
• At least 2‑3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant
• Familiar with various cardiology‑related procedures such as stress tests, managing Coumadin therapy, Holter monitors, etc.
• Ability to multitask
• Computer knowledge is a must
• Experience with an EMR system is a plus
• Well spoken, friendly, and outgoing
