About the role
The Lead Mechanical Technician - Manufacturing & Installation plays a crucial role in the design, assembly, and installation of custom mechanical systems. This position involves hands-on work in both the shop and at customer sites, managing projects from concept to completion.
Responsibilities
- Lead by example, working side-by-side with your team while coordinating efforts with engineers and project managers.
- Tackle a wide variety of projects, including electromechanical equipment, robotics, custom structures, and workstations.
- Oversee assembly, troubleshooting, prototyping, and light fabrication in shop and field settings.
- Lead and oversee projects and teams.
- Install structural steel, columns, supports, and various conduit and pipe types.
- Assist Project Managers and others in gathering information for quotes and bids.
- Identify potential issues and opportunities for change orders and communicate with Project Managers and other Engineering personnel.
- Interpret mechanical drawings and documentation for custom machines, systems, and products and red-line as necessary.
- Aid in the oversight and scheduling of training and development of Mechanical Technicians.
- Schedule personnel to meet project needs and enhance individual skillsets.
Requirements
- 8+ years’ experience in a role requiring industrial mechanical applications and installations.
- 2+ years’ experience in a leadership role overseeing both projects and small groups of people.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Possess basic welding certifications and ability to pass a weld test.
- Proficient with the selection and use of hand and power tools and equipment.
