About the role
The Pressure Relief Valve Lead Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in the Midland-Odessa area.
Responsibilities
- Leading the inspection, testing, calibration, repair, and installation of pressure relief valves and related equipment in accordance with National Board industry standards, manufacturer specifications, and safety regulations.
- Performing troubleshooting of valve performance issues.
- Carrying out routine maintenance tasks.
- Documenting all work performed.
- Maintaining quality control on completed jobs.
- Cooking workload, mentoring technicians, communicating job status to supervisors and customers.
- Maintaining tools, test benches, and shop equipment in safe working order.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in pressure relief valve inspection, testing, calibration, repair, and installation, preferably in oil and gas or industrial environments.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with tools, test stands, gauges, and related mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, specifications, and safety standards.
- Experience leading or mentoring technicians, coordinating work schedules, and overseeing job quality and safety.
- Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to diagnose valve and system performance issues efficiently.
- Attention to detail in documentation, including service reports, calibration records, and compliance paperwork.
- Commitment to safety practices, including lockout/tagout procedures and adherence to company and regulatory requirements.
- Effective communication skills to interact with team members, supervisors, and customers in a professional manner.
- Ability to work on-site in the Midland-Odessa area, including occasional overtime and field work as business needs require.
- Some out of town travel may be required.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical training or certification in valve repair, instrumentation, or industrial maintenance is preferred.
- A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record for travel to customer locations if needed.
